The set is of the short-run kind and, besides injection-molded plastic, it also contains resin parts for the fine detail, which suits it rather to more experienced modelers. Decals and building instructions are enclosed.
The LG 3000 was a heavier three-axle (6x4) truck supplied mainly to the Luftwaffe and the engineer units of the Wehrmacht. The chassis served for a whole range of special bodies, from tankers through photographic and meteorological vehicles to vehicles with searchlights. The Funkmastkraftwagen (Kfz. 301) version carried transmitting equipment and a folding or extending antenna mast and served as a mobile signals and radio station.
First wash the resin parts free of mold release agent residue, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); protect your airways while sanding. The plastic parts in short-run sets call for careful cleaning up of the mating surfaces and a dry test of the fit. Fine-tune the chassis before closing the body and the cab up. Paint with an airbrush; weathering with washes and pigments suggesting dust and mud will bring this busy vehicle to life.
