Planet models 1:72 M1280 General Purpose Configuration, the Joint Light Tactical Vehicle is a resin kit of the modern American armored light tactical vehicle in 1:72 scale. It is intended for modelers who already have experience of working with resin.

A resin kit for experienced modelers. It captures the M1280 General Purpose configuration, that is the basic multi-purpose form of the JLTV family. Resin castings allow finer and crisper surface detail than injection-molded plastic, but in return they call for a different way of working: the parts are not joined with cement for plastic and preparation is needed before building. In the small 1:72 scale the model also works well as supporting hardware in a diorama.
The Joint Light Tactical Vehicle is a modern American armored light tactical vehicle with all-wheel drive. In the armed forces of the United States it supplemented and, in some roles, replaced older light off-road vehicles. The JLTV family is divided into several configurations, which differ in body and purpose; the M1280 General Purpose is the multi-purpose version for carrying crew and cargo. Its characteristic features are the armored cab, a high-set chassis with a great deal of travel and a modular arrangement at the rear.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent. Otherwise the remains of the mold release agent stop the primer and the paint from adhering, and it shows only once they are sprayed on. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw or a knife, never with nippers, and sand the surfaces wet and with respiratory protection. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue); the gel consistency gives you a few seconds more to line the part up. Apply primer before painting, as paint holds poorly on resin without a base coat. Finish the chassis and the lower hull before you close the whole thing up. For weathering, a dark wash in the recesses and dust pigments on the fenders and lower areas work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
