New Ware mask set — B-52G Stratofortress, 1:72 (ADVANCED level)

An extended set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks in fine kabuki (washi) tape from the Czech maker New Ware, intended for the large plastic models of the American Boeing B-52G Stratofortress strategic bomber in 1:72 scale. It makes a more faithful finish of the glazing frames possible.

What the ADVANCED level contains

Compared with the basic variant, the ADVANCED level adds masks for the seals and frames of the cockpit windows (inner as well as outer color) and finer detail. Besides the glazing it also covers the landing gear wheels.

The real subject

The B-52 Stratofortress is an eight-engine long-range strategic bomber from Boeing, the backbone of the strike forces of the US Air Force during the Cold War. The G version brought a shortened fin, integral fuel tanks in the wing and the carriage of guided missiles.

Use and tips

• Apply them to a clean, degreased surface and press the edges down.
• The frame masks let you pick out the shade of the window seals.
• Once the paint is on, remove the masks carefully and in good time.
