An injection-molded plastic kit of the Messerschmitt Me 262 jet fighter in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Smer. In the HI-TECH edition a fret of photo-etched metal parts for finer detail is added to the plastic parts. The box contains plastic parts, photo-etched parts, decals and instructions; besides the German Me 262 it also offers markings for a related postwar machine. Glue, paints and other accessories are not included in the package.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 was a German jet fighter of the end of the Second World War and one of the first jet aircraft in the world committed to combat. It was powered by a pair of jet engines slung under the wing, which gave it exceptional speed for its day. It was used both as a fighter and as a fighter-bomber, although its influence on events was limited by its late arrival and by technical trouble with the engines.
Test fit the plastic parts first and clean up the parting lines. Glue with liquid cement for plastic. Cut the photo-etched metal parts off the fret, clean them up and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Apply a primer before painting and spray the paints with an airbrush; on the Me 262 careful shading of the mottled camouflage and emphasis of the panels work well.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
