1:72 Messerschmitt Bf 109E (Special Hobby)

Peewit 1:72 Messerschmitt Bf 109E - spray masks

This is a set of precisely cut self-adhesive masks from the maker Peewit in 1:72 scale, intended for one particular kit of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109E (Emil) fighter. It is neither a model nor its parts - the masks speed up and sharpen the masking of the glazing and other areas before spraying with paint. The masks are cut to fit a different standard of the kit from another similar set, so when buying, check which kit you are building.

The real subject

The Messerschmitt Bf 109E, nicknamed Emil, was among the most important Luftwaffe fighters in the opening years of the Second World War and became famous above all in the Battle of Britain. The many-framed cockpit is laborious to mask by hand, and so a pre-shaped set makes the work markedly easier.

Use and tips

• Clean and degrease the glazing, press the masks down and squeeze out any air bubbles.
• Cover the exposed areas with tape or masking fluid and spray thin coats of paint.
• Remove the masks shortly after the paint has dried, while the coat is still flexible.

Who the set is for

• Modelers building the Bf 109E in 1:72 scale.
• Anyone interested in sharp cockpit frames without hand masking.
• Fans of German aviation of the early Second World War.

The set contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package. The masks are cut for one particular kit in this scale.
