1:72 MiG-25BM BASIC kabuki masks is a set of die-cut masking tapes for a 1:72 kit you already own. It is not a model, but an accessory for painting. The intended kit is ICM.

This set from the Czech maker New Ware holds masking elements die-cut from so-called kabuki tape, a thin Japanese paper-based masking tape. It is not a model and nothing can be built from it on its own. Its purpose is to give the modeler sharp and accurate edges when painting an aircraft in 1:72 scale, in places where hand masking with ordinary tape would get them only with difficulty. The designation BASIC means the basic extent of the set, alongside which the manufacturer also offers a more extensive version.
A painted glazing frame always looks better than a decal laid over a clear part, because it has no glossy film and no visible edge. Hand masking in a small scale is, however, slow and inaccurate on curved surfaces. A pre-cut mask solves both at once: the shape fits the part, the edges are sharp and the work takes a fraction of the time. Kabuki tape also follows curves well and leaves no adhesive behind when it is removed.
First wash the clear parts in lukewarm water with detergent and let them dry, as a mask does not hold on a greasy surface. Lift the mask off the sheet with the point of a scalpel, not with your fingers. Once it is in place, press every edge down carefully with a toothpick; that is where paint creeps under. Apply the paint in several very thin coats, as one heavy coat will build a step at the edge. A proven procedure is to spray the interior shade of the frame first and the base color of the airframe after it. Remove the mask while the paint is freshly dry but not yet fully cured, pulling it at a sharp angle to the surface.
This is an add-on set for a kit you already own. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
