Tamiya XF-77 IJN Gray — Matte Acrylic Paint, 10 ml

A Tamiya modeling paint, XF-77, in the shade of Japanese naval gray (IJN Gray, Sasebo Arsenal). It is a matte acrylic (water-thinnable) paint from the XF range in a 10 ml bottle. The acrylic is suited to both brush and airbrush, covers well and self-levels smoothly; it can be washed off with water before it dries. The shade matches the gray used on Imperial Japanese Navy vessels and suits both warship models and figures, accessories and other parts in this tone.

Use

• Thinned with Tamiya's acrylic thinner X-20A (for acrylics, marked with the letter A), or with water.
• Thin it for an airbrush; for a brush it can be applied slightly thicker.
• The XF designation means a matte finish — apply a gloss varnish first under decals.
• Shake well before use.

Watch out for mix-ups between ranges: the acrylic X/XF range is thinned with X-20A (with the letter A), while the enamel range uses X-20 (without the letter A) — a different chemistry.
