USCHI van der Rosten Miramar MCAS 1:72 is a printed scenic base — a concrete apron surface with period markings for a striking diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a scenic base, not an aircraft model. On good white card there is a high-resolution print of the texture of a concrete airfield surface based on a real parking area at the Marine Corps air station at Miramar. It serves as a base under finished models and display-case scenes in 1:72 scale.
The print faithfully captures the joints between the concrete panels, the tie-down rings for securing aircraft, the covers of service pits, tire marks and the colored ground markings of the parking area in orange-yellow and white. Place a model, figures or ground equipment on it and you instantly have a believable ramp setting.
It is advisable to glue the sheet to a firm board so that it does not curl; small irregularities can be evened out by weighting it lightly overnight. The edges can be blackened or framed. The surface takes light emphasis with pastel dust and dry weathering, but do not spray the print with aggressive solvents. The concrete benefits from restrained soiling with oil stains where aircraft would have stood.
This is a printed scenic base, not a model kit. Models, figures and glue are not included in the package.
