A masking set tied to the moving surfaces of a model of the Japanese carrier-based fighter Mitsubishi A6M3 Model 32 Reisen in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Mitsubishi A6M was a Japanese carrier-based fighter of the Second World War, carried at home under the shortened designation Reisen. The Model 32 version can be told among the other versions at once: it has a shortened wing with cut-off, squarely finished tips, whereas the earlier and the later machines have rounded tips. The span is smaller as a result and the outline of the wing more angular.
The masks define the moving surfaces on the model, that is the ailerons and the elevator and the rudder. You can then spray them separately, in a shade or a degree of sheen of their own, and the transition to the fixed structure stays sharp and comes out directly in the paint. The exact extent of the set and the recommended order of the steps are stated in the manufacturer's instructions; read them before you reach for the airbrush.
Before sticking them on, wash and degrease the surface and let the base coat cure properly; on fresh paint a mask holds all too well and tears it away with it when removed. Press the edges down with a blunt stick and spray thinly in several passes. Take the mask off while the finish is freshly dried and draw it at an angle across the edge. Wipe the residue of adhesive left by the mask away with a cotton bud moistened with water, not with thinner.
The kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
