About product

Nieuport Triplane RFC/RNAS 1:72, Kovozavody Prostejov

An injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Kovozavody Prostejov. The subject is the triplane version of the Nieuport fighter, which the British air services tested. The set contains decals for British naval markings.

The real subject

The Nieuport Triplane came about as an attempt to carry the proven design of the French fighter over into a triplane layout in the hope of improving the climb and the agility. The French air service had no interest in the type, but the British services tried it briefly. The aircraft thus remained an interesting episode in the development of First World War fighters.

Building and painting tips

On kits of biplanes and triplanes, pay attention to seating the struts between the wings accurately and to the rigging that follows. Glue the small parts with liquid cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting, and the fabric surfaces come to life with light glazes and a wash along the ribs of the covering.

Who the model is for

  • For collectors of First World War aircraft and early fighters.
  • For modelers with experience of building multi-wing aircraft and rigging.
  • For lovers of unusual and little-known designs.

The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
