Responsibility details are not available.
A vacuum-formed clear cockpit canopy for models of the British Supermarine Seafire Mk.XVII carrier fighter in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft kit but a replacement canopy part that takes the place of the original clear molding from the kit. The package offers versions for building the teardrop canopy in the open and in the closed position. The thin, perfectly transparent wall gives the model a realistic look and reveals the interior.
The Seafire was the carrier version of the famous Spitfire fighter, adapted for operation from Royal Navy aircraft carriers. The Mk.XVII was one of the late post-war variants with a teardrop cockpit canopy, strengthened landing gear and a good view for the pilot. The canopy faithfully captures the shape of this late type.
The molding is cut off the backing film, the edges are sanded until they seat exactly and then polished. It is glued with clear PVA glue or a small drop of cyanoacrylate gel, so that the surface does not cloud. It is best to mask the frames with narrow strips and spray them with the interior color and the topcoat.
This is a modeling accessory, not a complete kit. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
