This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holds fine landing flaps for a plastic model of the British Hawker Sea Hawk FGA.6 carrier aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not a model or a kit, but an accessory that replaces the simplified plastic flaps with thin metal parts and lets you show them faithfully lowered, complete with the internal structure of the wing.
The Hawker Sea Hawk was a British single-seat carrier jet of the 1950s. The FGA.6 version was the fighter and ground-attack variant flown by the Fleet Air Arm, and other navies used it as well.
Separate the photo-etched flaps and their ribbing with a sharp knife and make the bends with tweezers or a bending tool. Use super glue (cyanoacrylate) to bond metal to plastic. Lowered flaps often call for a small reworking of the trailing edge of the wing. Degrease the metal and spray on a primer before painting.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
