The decal set from the Czech manufacturer AML in 1:72 scale brings five versions of markings for the American Bell P-39 Airacobra fighter in the service of the Soviet Air Force, where the aircraft earned the nickname Kobra. From one sheet you can therefore build five different aircraft, ideal for collectors and for anyone who wants a choice.
The Airacobra, with its cannon firing through the hollow propeller shaft and its engine mounted behind the pilot, was not greatly liked by its western users, but with the Soviet Air Force it found its element. The combats on the Eastern Front took place mostly at lower altitude, where the aircraft gave its best performance, and the heavy armament came into its own superbly. A number of the most successful Soviet fighter pilots flew Kobras, and the aircraft carried bold personal markings: victory stars, lettering and emblems that are exceptionally rewarding for modelers.
Study the scheme you have chosen in advance and finish the camouflage with gloss varnish. Settle the decals with a setting solution and transfer the small victory stars and lettering with the tip of a wet brush. A decal softener helps the subjects to settle into the engraved lines. Once dry, coat the model over and add fine service weathering if you wish.
This is a decal sheet, an accessory rather than an aircraft kit. The particular aircraft on the sheet follow the manufacturer's current release.
