Responsibility details are not available.
A short-run injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from Mikromir. The subject is the Soviet anti-ship glider torpedo bomber Nikitin PSN-2, a rare experimental engineless machine from the end of the 1930s. Because of the short-run tooling this is a kit for more advanced modelers looking for a completely unusual subject.
The PSN-2 was a Soviet attempt at a guided glider carrying a torpedo, which was to release the torpedo at a safe distance from the target. It could not take off on its own; it was towed by a mother aircraft or a seaplane and had an unusual twin-float arrangement. Although the piloted trials were successful, the development of automatic guidance proved difficult and the program was canceled around 1940.
Short-run kits tend to have thicker sprue gates and few or no locating pins, so dry-fit the parts, sand the casting residue away carefully and use both thin cement and cyanoacrylate. Mask the glazed areas, unify the model with a primer and apply the paints with an airbrush. Treat the twin-float undercarriage as a separate subassembly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
