The LP Models set for 1:72 scale holds a boarding ladder to the tandem cabin of the two-seat Su-30 and chocks under the wheels of the landing gear. A model of the aircraft is not part of the package; it is an accessory with which a finished model is set into the setting of an apron.
The Su-30 is a two-seat multirole aircraft derived from the two-seat version of the Su-27 family, supplied in a number of modifications for home and export customers. In photographs you will recognize a machine that is parked by two things: a ladder brought up at the cabin and chocks under the wheels. This set covers both at once, so a model stops looking as if it had been torn out of flight and gains a clear context. It works on a simple display-case base just as well as in a more extensive airfield diorama completed with figures and ground equipment.
Wash the resin in lukewarm soapy water, so that the mold release agent disappears from the surface, otherwise the paint will not hold. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, do not break them off, and protect your airways when sanding; it is best to sand wet. They are glued with super glue; ordinary cement for plastic will not join resin. After the primer, apply the paint in thin layers, so that the fine rungs of the ladder are not flooded. It pays to paint the chocks differently from the aircraft: worn wood or rubber with a dusty patina at the ground looks more convincing than a clean factory shade.
