The Colibri Decals SU-85 1:72 decal sheet, the second part of the series. It is not a kit but a decal set in its own right for a model of the tank destroyer already built.
Responsibility details are not available.
Decals in 1:72 scale for a model of the Soviet SU-85 tank destroyer. The sheet forms the second part of the Colibri Decals series on this type and offers markings that were not in the first part. The package contains the decal sheet alone, not a model and not paints.
The SU-85 was a self-propelled gun in the role of a tank destroyer, built on the chassis of the T-34 medium tank. The 85 mm D-5S gun was mounted in a fixed casemate in the front of the hull, without a rotating turret, which lowered the silhouette of the vehicle and made it possible to use a more powerful weapon than the T-34 turret carried at that time. It went into production in 1943 and was later replaced in the production program by the SU-100 with a 100 mm gun.
Working with tweezers decides whether a decal survives the journey from the dish to the model. Use tweezers with fine, smooth tips without serrations and never grip a decal by the printing; always hold it by the paper backing, not by the film. Lay the backing with the decal against the place it is going and slide the film off it onto the model with a damp soft brush, not with tweezers. The position can then be adjusted with that brush or with a cotton bud, which do not press the film and will not tear it. Tweezers with sharp points look more precise, but on a thin film they will make a hole before you notice.
This is a decal sheet in its own right. The model, paints, varnish and softener are not included in the package.
