Eduard 1:72 Sunderland Mk.III surface panels is a photo-etched set for sharpening up the surface panels of a plastic model of the Short Sunderland flying boat. It is not a kit but an accessory to a model.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holds stainless steel photo-etch aimed at the surface panels of a plastic model of the Short Sunderland Mk.III flying boat in 1:72 scale. It supplies the fine exterior elements of the hull and the wings that injection-molded plastic cannot capture in a matching thickness. The set is not an aircraft model in itself; it is an accessory to the base kit.
The Short Sunderland was a British four-engine flying boat used by the Royal Air Force, above all in RAF Coastal Command, for long-range maritime patrol and the fight against submarines in the Second World War. The Mk.III version was one of the most widespread. For its ability to defend itself it earned the nickname Flying Porcupine.
The photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a firm surface and bonded as a rule with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Make the bends along the score line. Degrease the parts before painting. The set refines the surface details of the airframe and raises the overall realism of the model.
This is an add-on photo-etched set, not a kit. The plastic model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
