The SX-Art stencils are intended for spraying the camouflage pattern onto a model of the T-90MS tank in 1:72 scale. The self-adhesive stencils are laid onto a cured base coat and define the areas of the further shades. On military subjects masks are not about glazing but precisely about the division of the camouflage on the hull and the turret.
The T-90MS is an upgraded version of the T-90 main battle tank with a revised turret, new equipment and extended protection. For a modeler its surface is what matters: broken up, with reactive armor, baskets, brackets and tools, that is, with plenty of places where a flat stencil has nothing to take hold of.
The work here is different from an aircraft. The basic rule is to apply the stencils before the small accessories are fitted, if the build allows it, or else to spray the pattern in sections and finish the interrupted lines by hand with a fine brush. In the places where the stencil crosses the edge of a protection block or a riveted edge, nick it and overlap piece over piece. Once the stencils are off, weathering comes next on a vehicle: filters, toning down and dust pigments will unify the transitions between the colors naturally, so a small imperfection of the edge disappears. Let the finish cure thoroughly before the weathering, therefore, and fix the edges first by applying a clear coat.
The package contains masking stencils only. The model, the paints and the airbrush are not part of it.
