A collector model of the UH-1F helicopter, nicknamed the Huey, in 1:72 scale, intended for a display cabinet.
Responsibility details are not available.
The UH-1 is one of the best-known helicopters of all. Its original designation HU-1 gave it the nickname Huey, and the nickname caught on so well that even people who had never heard the official designation used it. The machine stands on skids, carries a two-blade main rotor and is powered by a turboshaft engine, that is a turbine which turns the rotor instead of producing thrust. Simple construction, a roomy cabin with large sliding doors and the ability to land almost anywhere made it a machine for everything: moving troops, evacuating the wounded and giving support from above. The UH-1F version was produced for the US Air Force, which used these machines mainly for liaison and support duties.
The model captures the UH-1F in 1:72 scale, the scale in which aircraft and helicopters are most often collected. Next to fixed-wing machines, a helicopter is rewarding in a display cabinet precisely because of its shape: the long tail boom and the rotor above the cabin create a different silhouette from a row of fuselages with wings.
Put the model in a closed display cabinet or on a shelf out of direct sunlight, which changes the shades of the finish over time. Remove dust with a soft brush, not with a damp cloth, so that fine edges and lettering are not damaged. When moving the model, hold it by the fuselage, never by the rotor or the tail boom.
A display cabinet, a display base and paints are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
