The third part of the figure line, 1:72 DAK Soldiers Part III, offers figures on the subject of German units in North Africa for small dioramas.
Responsibility details are not available.
A continuation of the figure line on the subject of German units committed in North Africa. The item follows on from two earlier parts of the same line and will serve as an escort to hardware or as a group on its own for a desert scene. Neither a model of a vehicle nor terrain belongs with it.
The clashes in Libya and Egypt took place in the years 1941 to 1943 in a setting that looks entirely different in modeling terms from Europe. The dust is light to pinkish, the shadows harsh, the vegetation almost absent. Tropical uniforms faded quickly to sand and greenish colors, and new pieces differed markedly in shade from worn ones. It is exactly this difference that is worth showing on the individual figures, because it gives the scene credibility.
Choose a base lighter than you expect and work with pigments. Apply fine sandy dust from the feet upward and let it weaken gradually, so that the effect is not flat. Mute the metal parts of the equipment; nothing shines in the desert. Darken the faces to a tanned tone and deal with the lips and the eyes by mere suggestion, because sharp detail in this scale harms rather than helps.
How many figures are inside and what they are cast from cannot be found from the name of the item, so it is not written here.
