The real subject

The UH-1 is one of the most widespread helicopters of all, and the nickname Huey stayed with it from its original designation HU-1. The hallmarks of the whole family are a slim fuselage with a glazed nose, a two-blade main rotor and skids instead of wheels. The UH-1F version was delivered to the US Air Force, which used it for transport and liaison duties and for securing its own installations.

What you get

A finished model in 1:72 scale. It is assembled and painted, so you need no glue, paints or tools and you can put the model straight into a display cabinet. That is the difference from a kit: here nothing is cut, glued or sanded.

Care and placement

The rotor blades and the antennas are the most delicate parts, so lift the model by the fuselage, never by the rotor or by the skids. Remove dust with a soft wide brush; a cloth catches on the protrusions and easily breaks something off. The painted surface does not tolerate solvents or cleaning agents, and a dry brush is enough to wipe it. Direct sunlight takes the richness out of the shades, so do not stand the model on a window sill. In a display cabinet it helps to place the helicopter on a raised surface, so that the shape of the fuselage can be seen from the side.

Who it suits

For collectors who want vehicles in a display cabinet and do not want to build, and also as an addition to a collection already under way in the same scale. In 1:72 a finished helicopter takes up little room and stands easily beside aircraft of the same size.
