The RAF tractor driver of the Second World War in 1:72 scale is a resin figure from the Aerobonus brand that will enliven an airfield diorama.
Responsibility details are not available.
This resin figure represents a member of the Royal Air Force (RAF) ground crew at the steering wheel of an airfield tow tractor. It is a stand-alone accessory, not a model of a vehicle or an aircraft: the figure serves to populate and enliven a diorama or a vignette of the airfield background.
The RAF ground crew formed the indispensable background of every base during the Second World War. Tractors and tugs moved aircraft around the field and towed bowsers, ammunition trolleys and mobile support equipment. Mechanics and drivers wore blue-gray uniforms or working overalls; it is exactly these everyday scenes that give aviation dioramas life and a story.
Wash the casting to remove mold release residue, cut off the casting blocks and sand the joints with respiratory protection. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). When painting figures, a primer works well, along with shading the folds in darker tones and lightening the edges; the face and hands come into their own with the layering of flesh shades. For 1:72 scale choose fine brushes and thin coats of paint.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the vehicle are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
