A diorama accessory, not a kit. Classic plank-built crates are among the most universal props there are: they stand on a railway platform, lie on the bed of a truck, make a makeshift barricade in a ruin, and fill out a harbor pier or a warehouse. That is exactly why Green Stuff World offers them in three sizes at once, matching the scales 1:76, 1:48 and 1:35. The three scales in the name are therefore not a mistake but deliberate: crates of the same type suit a small railway scene as well as a large armor diorama.
Wood is done in layers: a light base, over it a darker glaze or brown wash that runs into the gaps between the planks, and finally a dry brush in a lighter tone along the edges. Deliberately do not paint the individual crates the same, because real wood is inconsistent, and a few crates faded to gray or on the contrary freshly new will make the scene believable. Battered corners, marks, simple lettering and a little dust in the lower part then finish the job.
For builders of dioramas and display cases who need additional equipment for a scene, and for modelers of vehicles who want to fill an empty truck bed. Thanks to the three sizes the set is also practical for anyone who builds in more than one scale.
The accessory is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
