Responsibility details are not available.
Pre-cut painting masks in 1:144 scale for a model of the Fouga CM.170 Magister. The set is neither a kit nor part of one. At this scale the whole aircraft is only a few centimeters long and the cockpit frames are as thin as a hair, so a mask is practically the only way to bound them straight. The extent of the set is stated on the box.
The Fouga CM.170 Magister is a French two-seat jet trainer with characteristic butterfly tail surfaces in the shape of a V. It came about as a machine meant directly for training on jet equipment, served in many countries and was used by aerobatic teams as well. It is precisely the recognizable tail shape and the long glazed cockpit that make it a rewarding subject even at the smallest scales.
In 1:144 scale you work with parts a few millimeters in size and every inaccuracy shows up twice over. Lift the mask off its backing sheet with pointed tweezers and never with your fingers, because a mask that is bent or stretched will no longer sit. Do not transfer it damp and do not try to shift it in place more than once; repeated lifting tires the adhesive and the edge stops bedding down. The surface has to be smooth and completely dry, and on a tiny part even a thin layer of dust shows. Once the mask is laid on, press the edge home with the blunt tip of a toothpick and spray really thin coats, because a heavy coat of paint builds a step at the edge that is disproportionately conspicuous at this scale. Take the mask off shortly after the paint has dried.
The package contains masks only. A kit, paints and glue are not included, unless stated otherwise.
