The Japanese battleship Nagato in 1:700 scale from Aoshima is a plastic kit of one of the best known units of the Imperial Japanese Navy.
Responsibility details are not available.
This injection-molded kit from the Japanese manufacturer captures the battleship Nagato in the usual naval scale of 1:700. That is the format in which a whole squadron can be collected and still displayed sensibly, without individual ships taking up a whole shelf.
Nagato entered service at the beginning of the 1920s as the lead ship of the class of the same name and became the first battleship in the world armed with 410 mm guns. For many years she counted as a symbol of Japanese naval power and carried the flag of the commander of the Combined Fleet. She was the only Japanese battleship to survive the war afloat and was lost only during the postwar nuclear tests at Bikini Atoll.
First true up the lower edge of the hull so that the model sits level on its base. The decks are easier to paint before the superstructure and the funnel go on. Assemble the characteristic pagoda mast level by level and keep checking that it is vertical. Leave the small gun tubs until last so that they do not break off during handling. The horizontal surfaces deserve a light accent along the seams so that the ship does not read as a single solid block.
This is an unassembled kit without a finish; paints and glue are not included.
