Horizontal warning floor markings in 1:35 scale. The accessory is intended for interiors and covered premises, that is for workshops, hangars, factory halls, garages and stores, where safety stripes and marked walkways really do occur. It is not a kit but a surface treatment for an already finished base.
Most details in a diorama stand vertically and the floor stays a uniform gray area, even though it takes up the largest continuous piece of the subject. Yet it is precisely horizontal markings that can divide a space and give it logic: yellow and black stripes in front of gates, a marked corridor for the movement of people, a hatched area around a machine. In a hall where a vehicle stands, markings also incidentally explain why it is parked just there, and they lead the viewer's eye from the edge of the base to the main model.
Before fitting, the base has to be flat and smooth, because any bumpiness shows at once on a long straight line. Try the layout dry first, because markings follow the geometry of a scene and have to line up with gates, pillars and walls. The most important thing, however, is wear: the paint rubs off most in the middle of traffic lanes and stays well preserved at the edges. Partly wipe the markings away where vehicles drive, therefore, and add oil stains, the imprints of tracks or tires and a deposit of dust in the corners.
An accessory for building dioramas. The base, the building and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
