Figures of Ottoman Akinci of the 16th and 17th centuries in 1:72 scale, set 1. They are supplied unpainted.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Akinci were the light irregular cavalry of the Ottoman army. They drew no pay, lived off plunder, and their task was not to fight a battle but to disrupt the opponent's rear before the main army even arrived: to burn supplies, drive off cattle and wreck the provisioning of the borderlands. They were lightly armed and relied on speed and knowledge of the terrain. In the 16th and 17th centuries they were an ordinary part of Ottoman campaigns in Central Europe, and they are tied to the Hungarian and Moravian borderlands in particular.
Figures in 1:72 scale, that is in the scale in which a whole detachment can be put together without the scene taking up half a table. The designation Set 1 sets this set apart from the further sets of the same line, which are devoted to other branches of the Ottoman army. The exact contents of the package are stated on the manufacturer's box.
Before painting, wash and degrease the figures and cut the excess material and the production traces off carefully with a sharp blade. Apply the paint in thin layers so that you do not flood the modeled detail. Ottoman colorfulness benefits when you set each figure apart by the tone of its clothing while unifying a dusty shade on the footwear and the lower parts; the set then holds together and still does not come across as uniform.
For builders of historical dioramas and for players of early modern tabletop battles. The figures are supplied unpainted, and paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
