An injection-molded plastic kit of a mobile suit from the Gundam line. The maker is Bandai; its kits are assembled with snap-fit joints, the parts are nipped off the sprues and joined without glue. The model is supplied unassembled. The scale is not stated in the name of the model.
Gundam is an extensive Japanese series about piloted combat machines, what are called mobile suits. The machine with the designation Re:Rising belongs to a newer part of this brand tied to the story line about builders and pilots of models. In design it is typical Gundam shaping: a slender torso, a pronounced head with a visor, shoulder shields and a color division that keeps to a long recognizable scheme with this brand. The real subject is fictional, so what is judged is the cleanness of the shape and the resulting impression, not period accuracy.
Nip the parts off with a margin and clean the sprue nub up by trimming and sanding, so that no whitened spot is left on the edge. Try the build dry before you glue anything; with snap-fit joints the model can be taken apart and finished at any time. If you are going to paint, divide the model into subassemblies and paint them separately, otherwise you will have trouble reaching into the shadows. The engraved lines will benefit from a thin paneliner, which runs in by capillary action, and the excess is wiped off. A uniform final varnish will unify the sheen of parts from different sprues and hide small differences of surface.
The model is supplied unassembled. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
