An accessory from the maker Kits-World for the cockpit of a model in 1:32 scale. The full-color print of the instrument panel has a three-dimensional structure and is printed on decal paper, so it is transferred into a model as a decal. It is not a part to be glued.

The early guise and choosing the product

The designation of the version in the name is the key thing when buying: the early and the late guise of the same type differ in their instrument equipment and a panel from another version does not fit on the model. Several instrument panels exist for the same type of aircraft, which look similar in a photograph; decide according to the exact designation and the part number. Before you start sanding, compare the outline of the print with the shape of the plastic part in your own kit.

Placement and procedure

The design belongs on the surface of the panel, not on the frame or on the structure of the cockpit around it. Sand the raised cast dials flat and smooth the surface with fine abrasive paper, otherwise a layered print will not seat and a silvery rim will appear at the edges. Varnish the base with a gloss varnish. Soak the decal briefly in warm water, transfer it with a brush, straighten it and push the water out from under it. Dose the softener drop by drop and rather in two goes. Once it is completely dry, go over the surroundings with a matte varnish and leave the glasses of the instruments glossy; tune the sprayed surfaces of the interior so that they match the panel in color.
