The third shade variant of the decal set of British canvas webbing of the 1937 Pattern in 1:35 scale. The printing is full-color, with a relief layer, so once seated the pouches and the straps come across spatially. The designation Bren and SMLE in the name refers to the guise matching an armament with the Bren gun and the Lee-Enfield rifle.
The KG3 shade is the darkest green of the variants offered. Webbing in it comes across considerably more saturated than in the light sandy guise and on a figure it noticeably changes the overall impression, because the straps make up a large continuous area. If you are building a scene where the webbing is meant to contrast with the uniform, the dark variant is more rewarding; against a dark uniform, on the contrary, the straps will merge. Because the maker carries several sets that are close in content and differ precisely in the shade, always buy according to the exact designation of the shade, otherwise the sets cannot be told apart.
The base must be glossy, otherwise a silvery veil will arise under a decal. Release the decal in warm water and bring it into place with a brush, without pressure. Apply the softener drop by drop from above and let it work by itself; a relief layer is easily wrinkled or shifted with a brush. On edges and in folds repeat a smaller dose twice rather than once in quantity. With dark shades it moreover pays off to check the edge of the decal against the light, so that the glossy carrier film is not seen. A matte varnish at the close.
