1:35 French Policeman (WW2 era) is a Mantis Miniatures figure subject in 1:35 scale: a French policeman in period dress, intended for civilian and urban scenes.
Responsibility details are not available.
A figure subject in 1:35 scale depicting a French policeman in dress matching the period of the Second World War. It is an accessory for a diorama, not a kit. The 1:35 scale matches the usual range of ground hardware, buildings and accessories, so the figure can be set into a city street, at a checkpoint or into a quiet civilian scene with no military motif.
A scene made up only of soldiers and hardware looks monotonous. A civilian or police figure gives the tableau a civilian dimension, creates a contrast with the uniforms and often works as the natural center of the composition. It will find use in urban dioramas, with models of period cars and also as an addition to figure sets from other makers in the same scale.
Clean up the parting lines, line the parts up dry and only then join them. Spray the primer in a thin coat, so that the folds of the cloth stay legible. On a dark police uniform do not use pure black as the base; the color then looks flat. A very dark gray-blue base proves its worth, into which lighter tones are added on the upper surfaces of the shoulders, the sleeves and the cap. A dark wash will bring out the recesses and a gentle brightening the edges. Do the face and hands after the uniform, and the metal fittings and buttons at the very end. Matte varnish unifies the whole; individual gloss areas, such as leather, are polished up spot by spot afterwards.
The figure is supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
