A figure of a man with a rifle from the May 1945 uprising in 1:48 scale. An accessory for a scene with vehicles or for a base of its own.
Responsibility details are not available.
The May 1945 uprising at the end of the Second World War put people into the streets who until then had not been soldiers. They fought with whatever was at hand, the equipment was mixed and membership of the insurgent units was shown improvised, most often with an armband. The figure of a man with a rifle captures that scene: a civilian holding a weapon.
Scale 1:48 means a figure of a little under four centimeters. An accessory like this brings a scene with vehicles to life, as well as a street scene or a display case where a model would otherwise stand alone with nothing to give it scale. A single figure placed in the right spot makes a scene read better than several figures spread out over the area.
Cut the excess material and any production marks off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder down carefully. Wash and degrease the surface before painting. In a small scale contrast does the work: put a darker glaze under the folds and lighten the raised areas, or the figure will merge into a single blur from a distance. Civilian clothing holds together better if you choose muted shades and let one more striking element stand out. Keep the rifle in a dark tone with a discreet metallic sheen only on the edges. Stick the small parts onto a wooden stick; in this scale they are otherwise very hard to hold. The specific assembly procedure is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The paints, the glue and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
