It is a modern tooling, a reworked version of an older release. According to the manufacturer, the position of the outriggers can be chosen for both the launch and the transport state, and the missile can be built raised on the semi-trailer.
The M983 is a tractor from the family of American heavy tactical trucks HEMTT, with drive on all eight wheels and high cross-country mobility. Paired with a launcher semi-trailer it served as the mobile carrier of the Pershing II missile, an American medium-range ballistic missile deployed in Europe during the Cold War. The mobile launch combination could move about and change quickly from the transport to the firing position, in which the missile was raised upright. It is a striking piece of Cold War equipment.
The rig has a tractor, a semi-trailer and a missile, so build it in subassemblies. In the small 1:72 scale bend the tiny parts with tweezers and glue them with cyanoacrylate; fit the clear parts, the windows and the lights, at the very end. Decide in advance whether you want the rig in the transport position or in the firing position with the missile raised and the outriggers lowered. Spray a thin primer before painting; the three-color NATO camouflage or olive suit it well. The missile carries mostly light shades with technical markings. Keep the weathering sober at this scale, with a light wash and fine pigments for dust.
