A multi-figure set in cast resin in 1:35 from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART. According to the name it is the crew of the StuG assault gun with a figure of a puppy added — it is exactly that small subject that makes the set into a rewarding genre scene, one that catches the eye on a diorama at once. It is not a vehicle kit but an add-on to a finished model or the basis of a vignette. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The figures are cast in parts: the torso with the clothing, the head, the arms and the small accessories separately. The figure of the animal tends to be cast in one piece and is the most fragile item in the package, so separate it from the casting block carefully and rather with a saw than with nippers. The mold seam lines of the human figures run along the sides and along the inner side of the limbs. The folds of the clothing, the pockets and the straps and harness are brought out in relief and respond well to a wash.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap and remove the mold release agent. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw away from the detail, sand the faces down and protect your airways while sanding resin. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and apply a thin primer. Lay the composition out dry on the model first — in a scene with several figures and an animal, the mutual turn and the direction of the gazes are what decide, or the scene will not hold together. Paint the uniforms at the same time from one mixed shade, put a dark wash into the folds and lighten the edges with a dry brush. Build the puppy's coat the other way round from the cloth: a base, a darker glaze into the recesses around the muzzle and the legs, then very fine light strokes in the direction of the coat. Finish the eyes and the nose at the end with a thin brush and leave the nose a spot of gloss. Bring the surface together with a matte clear coat.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
