A multi-figure set in cast resin in 1:35 from the figure line of the maker PANZER ART. The name denotes the crew of the StuG assault gun in resting poses, that is figures suited to being laid out around a standing vehicle or on its superstructure. It is not a vehicle kit but an add-on to a finished model and the basis of a vignette. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The figures are cast in parts — the torso with the clothing, the head, the arms and the small items of equipment separately. Resting poses tend to have the arms and the legs laid more loosely, so it is especially important with them to try the seating dry: the angle of the shoulders decides whether a figure looks relaxed or stiff. The mold seam lines run along the sides of the figure and along the inner side of the limbs, and each part is held on a casting block. The folds of the clothing, the pockets and the straps and harness are brought out as raised relief.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap, so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw away from the detail, sand the faces down and protect your airways while sanding resin. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and apply a thin primer. With a resting scene it helps a great deal to lay the figures out dry on the model first and find the bond between them — a seated figure needs a flat surface, while a leaning figure needs contact with the hull without a gap. Paint the uniforms at the same time from one mixed shade, put a dark wash into the folds and lighten the edges with a dry brush. Loosely falling cloth in resting poses has longer, softer folds, so make the transitions finer and avoid sharp highlights. Leave the leather accessories darker with a satin; the uniform stays matte. At the end bring the surface together with a matte clear coat.
The figures are supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
