Italy, movie signs and posters in 1:35 scale from ETA diorama is a diorama accessory for city scenes with a cinema.
Responsibility details are not available.
An ETA diorama accessory for finishing off a scene, not a model of a building. The subject is Italian movie advertising, that is the surfaces that in a real city line the facade of a cinema, the corner of a house or the wall by the entrance to an auditorium. The 1:35 scale makes them a clearly readable item of a scene.
For a long time Italian movie advertising took the form of a hand-painted picture rather than mere printing. The painters worked in a large format, the face of an actor took up a considerable part of the surface and the colors were deliberately richer than reality, so that a poster would catch the eye from the other side of the street. A cinema was meanwhile the social center of a district, so its facade was among the most striking places in the neighborhood.
It comes out best grouped around one entrance, because in reality several of them hung side by side at a cinema. Consider whether they should be lined up in a row or pasted over one another, which is typical of a surface to which posters were added one after another. Keep the surrounding masonry subdued, so that a surface of color keeps the upper hand. The bottom edges of posters tended to be the most scuffed, because people walked past them every day.
The facade of a cinema and its surroundings are built from other parts.
