This is a resin accessory to a model, not a kit in its own right. The set relates to the German StuG III Ausf. G assault gun in the modification used in Panzer-Brigade 150 during the fighting in the Ardennes, and it is in 1:35 scale. It completes the base plastic kit with parts that change the silhouette of the vehicle. The maker PANZER ART is a Polish brand focused on cast accessories for armored vehicles. The nickname Impostor in the name refers to the fact that the vehicles were given sheet metal superstructures meant to change their outline at a distance.
The StuG III Ausf. G was the late production form of the German assault gun on the Panzer III chassis, with a low casemate superstructure and no rotating turret. The vehicles committed with Panzer-Brigade 150 in the Ardennes at the end of 1944 carried additional sheet metal covers whose shape was to resemble American tank destroyers at a distance. It was a surface modification of shape, not an intervention in the design. For a modeler it is a striking and easily recognizable subject that differs from an ordinary StuG III at first glance.
Wash the castings in warm water with dish soap, cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and sand the surfaces with your airways protected. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Glue the thin superstructure parts on only after a dry test, because their seating sets the final silhouette and they cannot be shifted later. On painting: a primer, then the chosen camouflage finish as a purely painting task, with sharp or sprayed transitions according to the scheme chosen. Bring out the joints between the plates with a dark wash, the edges with a dry brush and dust the lower part with pigments.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
