The designation type 2 sets apart the second of the versions the manufacturer carries for this subject; you will find the type 1 version as an item of its own.
Replacing the road wheels is among the modifications with the best ratio of work put in to effect achieved. The wheels are in plain sight on a finished model, yet on injection-molded plastic the pattern of the disc tends to be shallow and a parting line runs across its middle. A resin casting is poured in such a way that the face of the disc stays whole and the detail crisper. The set is used as a direct replacement for the wheels from the base kit.
The M60 was an American tank introduced at the start of the 1960s and built in the progressively modernized M60A1, M60A2 and M60A3 versions. Israel designated machines of this family the Magach 6 and reworked them continually during their service. In use, wheels from different production batches commonly ended up on a single vehicle, which opens up room for a modeler to combine different versions on one suspension.
First wash the parts in lukewarm water with dish soap so that remains of the mold release agent are removed. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw rather than nipping them, as resin is brittle. It is best to sand wet and with respiratory protection. Use super glue (cyanoacrylate) for gluing, because ordinary polystyrene cement will not bond resin. Apply a primer before painting. Spray the wheels before they go into the suspension and finish the rubber tires with a brush. Add dust and mud only after the tracks are glued on, so that the weathering carries on from the rest of the running gear.
This is not a model on its own but an accessory for a plastic kit. The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
