Responsibility details are not available.
This is the second treatment of the Viking subject in this bust range, which the number in the name tells apart from the earlier rendition. The 1:10 scale is given in the name and matches a format where the beard and the hair take up a large part of the area.
The Viking period is usually placed roughly between the end of the eighth and the middle of the eleventh century. In it the Northmen appear in three roles at once: as raiders, as traders and as settlers who established themselves from Iceland to the river basins of eastern Europe. Their equipment was in fact rather plain; horned helmets are a later romantic invention and the surviving finds show simple domed shapes. Standing was shown rather by the quality of a sword, by brooches and by jewelry than by the amount of armor.
The beard and the long hair are best laid in dark, with the light placed only on the upper layer of the strands. Cloth in that period was dyed with plant dyes, which is why it comes across more credibly in muted tones than in a deep red or blue. The leather of the straps will stand pronounced wear on the edges. Leave the silver or bronze brooches until the end and return a dark shadow between them, otherwise they will merge with the cloth.
