Transport crates are among those small things that give a scene its scale and its story. Stood by a workshop, on a truck bed or in a corner of a garage, a crate hints at what is going on in the place and fills empty areas of the base that would otherwise look bare. The set is prepared for 1:24 scale, the most common size of car models.

The number of pieces in the package and the exact dimensions are given in the manufacturer's instructions; follow them when preparing the parts and choosing the glue as well.
Cut the excess material off a little way from the part with a sharp blade and sand the rest carefully so that the mating surfaces stay flat. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint will not hold. Choose a suitable glue according to the material given in the manufacturer's instructions. Apply the shade of wood or paint in thin coats and bring out the edges with a dry brush; only wear on the corners turns a crate into something that gets used. Try the layout on the base dry before you glue anything.
