Dark Green Tufts 6 mm – AK Interactive grass tufts

Dark green grass tufts 6 mm high for dioramas, vignettes and figure bases. It is neither a model nor an object of a scene in its own right, but vegetation material to be applied: the tufts are placed one by one on terrain that has already been built and painted.

What taller growth means

Six millimeters is noticeably taller grass than the four-millimeter variant. On a model it looks like unmown, run-wild growth – grass by abandoned buildings, in ditches, along fences and in places nobody can get to mow. It is exactly this contrast that makes a scene legible: low growth where people walk and drive, tall growth where they do not. The darker shade also suits shaded and damper areas.

How to apply the tufts

• Lift the tufts one by one with tweezers and place them irregularly, in clusters.
• Keep the taller grass in places where nobody would maintain it – by ditches, fences and walls.
• If a tuft will not hold on its own, add a drop of PVA (white) glue or thin super glue.
• Fluff the fibers up once glued and dust the base of the tuft with pigment, so that no sharp transition is left.
