An injection-molded plastic kit of the German single-seat fighter Messerschmitt Bf 109E-3 in the large 1:32 scale in a Hobby 2000 box. It combines proven plastic moldings with photo-etched parts and quality decals from the Cartograf printing house. The boxing aims at machines of the Legion Condor unit fielded during the Spanish Civil War. In the large 1:32 scale it is a striking, sizeable model.
The Bf 109E, nicknamed the Emil, was the main version of this famous fighter at the turn of the 1930s and 1940s. The E-3 version had a Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine with direct fuel injection and armament in the wings. Even before the Second World War the early 109s proved themselves in the Spanish Civil War with the Legion Condor unit, where German pilots gained combat experience. The cowled inverted V12 engine gave the aircraft its characteristic slender nose.
In the large 1:32 scale the detail comes out — finish and paint the cockpit and the engine area carefully and fit the colored photo-etched parts into the interior. Mask the glazing of the canopy. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate and the plastic with liquid modeling cement, and sand the joints. Apply the camouflage of the Spanish period with an airbrush, lay the Cartograf decals on a gloss clear and emphasize the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
