A short-run plastic kit of the twin-engine McDonnell Douglas DC-9 airliner in the original short -10 series, in 1:144 scale, in prototype finish. FLY is a Czech maker of short-run models. The package makes it possible to build a static model of this early jet airliner.
The DC-9 was an American narrow-body airliner with a pair of jet engines on the sides of the rear fuselage and a T-tail. The -10 series was the shortest, original version, brought into airline service in the mid-1960s. The prototype machines served for test and certification flying before series production began.
With a short-run kit expect to clean up the parts and dry-fit them. The smooth gloss fuselage benefits from a good primer, fine sanding and an airbrush. Prototype liveries tend to be striking, so lay the paint down in thin coats and fix the decals with a varnish compatible with the paint used.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
