A vacuum-formed F-86 Sabre canopy in 1:144 scale in the form for the Trumpeter and Monochrome kits.
Responsibility details are not available.
A thin-walled clear part with which you replace the original canopy of the cockpit. The buck is shaped after particular models, the Trumpeter and Monochrome kits being given in the name, so the outline fits the fuselage without additional reworking of the profile.
The Sabre was the first American production fighter with a swept wing and in the nineteen fifties became the measure against which the other jet machines were judged. A characteristic nose with a circular air intake and a sliding bubble canopy gave it a silhouette that even a layman recognizes. It is exactly that bubble that is most visible on a small model, and that is why every extra tenth of a millimeter is noticed on it.
Never cut the film with scissors across the shape, there is a risk of cracking. It is better to go around the outline with a new blade at minimal pressure and to sand the rest down. Fingerprints are removed by fine polishing; small scratches disappear after dipping in a varnish for clear parts. Mask the frames only after the glue has dried perfectly and spray the inner shade of the cockpit first, and only then the outer camouflage. Inside it pays to darken the frame and to add a locating point for seating it later.
It is sold separately as an accessory to an aircraft of your own in progress.
