AML Fieseler Fi-103A (V-1) with transport trailer - a model of the famous flying bomb with a transport trailer in 1:144 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Czech brand AML has prepared a 1:144 model of the famous Fi 103 flying bomb, generally known as the V-1, and has added a transport trailer to it. The pair opens the way to a small but striking vignette from behind the launch ramps.
The Fieseler Fi 103 was the first cruise missile used in series. It was powered by an Argus pulsejet engine whose characteristic clatter earned the weapon the nickname buzz bomb. From June 1944 thousands of these missiles were aimed at London and later at Antwerp; they were launched from catapult ramps on the coast as well as from modified aircraft. On the ground the missiles moved between the depots and the ramps on exactly the kind of trailer this subject captures.
At 1:144 the cleanliness of the work decides: smooth the joints with fine abrasive paper, spray the camouflage with well thinned paints and assemble the slender trailer parts with tweezers. The subject positively invites a vignette with a piece of field track or a concrete ramp, where the unusual silhouette of the missile stands out.
The kit is supplied unassembled and unpainted; glue and paints are not included in the package.
In a display case of 1:144 aircraft, where bombers and transports otherwise dominate, the slim body with the pulsejet above its tail stands out as an unmistakable one-off.
