A short-run injection-molded plastic kit of the German Fokker Dr.I fighter triplane of the First World War, in 1:144 scale from Valom. It is a dual combo: the box holds two complete models and, besides the plastic parts, also small accessories and decals for several marking options. Despite the small scale it is a charming yet detailed model for careful builders.
The Fokker Dr.I was a German single-seat fighter triplane of the First World War. The arrangement of three wings stacked one above the other gave it an excellent rate of climb and agility in a dogfight in a confined space. It became famous above all as the machine of leading aces, among them Manfred von Richthofen, and despite the relatively small number built it became one of the best known aircraft of the whole war.
With a short-run model, count on cleaning up the parts by hand. Use liquid cement for plastic and glue the small accessories with cyanoacrylate glue. The key stage is the bracing wires stretched between the wings and the fuselage, for which stretched sprue works well. Apply a primer before painting and apply the decals onto a smooth gloss surface; leave the glazing and the small details until last.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
