A photo-etched set from the Czech maker Brengun for a model of the radar-equipped MiG-17PF version scaled to 1:144. It is an accessory that is added to an Attack Hobby kit already bought: on its own it is not a model.
The interceptor version carries a radar in the nose and the housings that go with it, which changes the shape of the nose and the arrangement of the detail around it. Accessory sets for the individual versions are therefore not interchangeable: a set for the day fighter would not fit this aircraft in some places. So watch the version designation in the product name when ordering.
Parts stay in the fret until their turn comes; cut them out ahead of time and one of them will go missing. Cut on a hard surface with a sharp knife straight down and sand the stub left by the tab with fine paper. Degrease the whole fret with alcohol before gluing. Apply super glue in the smallest possible amount: an excess creeps under the part, turns white and floods the engraving. A proven trick is to pour a drop of glue onto a piece of film and pick it up from there with a wire. Paint always over a primer; on bare metal the first scratch from the tweezers shows immediately.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
