A plastic kit of the Soviet BZ-38 aviation tanker (refueling) truck in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker UM (UniModels). The model is supplied as injection-molded plastic with rubber tires, to be assembled and painted, and it makes a fitting companion to airfield scenes.
The BZ-38 was an aviation tanker truck on the chassis of the GAZ-AAA truck, introduced from 1938. It served as the basic refueling and transport vehicle of the air force and supplied aircraft with fuel from a tank of around 1350 liters. It was a common sight at Soviet field airfields during the Second World War.
Take care over seating the wheels with their rubber tires and over assembling the tank body and the pumping equipment cleanly. A primer works well, then protective green with an airbrush and fine washes; dust pigments on the running gear will round out the airfield setting.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
