An injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian diesel-electric attack submarine of the Kilo class in the large 1:144 scale from Trumpeter. According to the manufacturer the box offers parts for building a full-hull as well as a waterline model, so you can choose whether to display the submarine on a stand or set into the surface of the sea. The larger scale leaves room for details of the hull and the sail. Check the exact package contents against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Kilo class (Project 877 in Russian designation and the upgraded Project 636) is a diesel-electric attack submarine intended for the defense of coastal waters and for anti-submarine and anti-ship warfare. Kilo submarines are known for their low noise — for their stealth they are nicknamed the black hole. They have served and still serve with the Russian Navy and with a number of foreign users to whom they were exported.
Glue the hull halves with liquid cement for plastic and sand the seam on the smooth rounded side carefully. According to the variant you choose, build the full hull on a stand or the waterline form. Paint the underside with an anti-fouling color and the rest in the flat black typical of these submarines. Add the sail, the periscopes, the masts and the fine deck details at the end; even the surface out with a matte coat and bring out the lines discreetly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
