An injection-molded plastic kit of the Russian two-seat fighter Sukhoi Su-27UB Flanker C in 1:144 scale from Trumpeter. The model has finely engraved panel lines, a cockpit with tandem seats and clear canopy parts. The box also contains pylons, among them guided air-to-air missiles. It is a well-made small model of a modern combat aircraft for the collection.
The Su-27UB is the two-seat combat trainer version of the Soviet and Russian fighter Su-27 (NATO reporting name Flanker). It was created by reworking the single-seat machine with a second seat for an instructor or a second crew member, and it serves for training as well as for combat tasks. The basic Su-27 is a heavy air superiority fighter marked by long range, agility and heavy armament.
Use thin cement for plastic and work in subassemblies. Finish and paint the cockpit and the seats before closing the fuselage. Apply primer before varnishing; the typical gray-blue finish of the Flankers comes out best sprayed with an airbrush with soft transitions. Pick out the fine engraved lines with a light wash and add the pylons only once the airframe is varnished. Mask the cockpit glazing.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
